News & Announcements

Thank you to so many of you who came by this weekend for the Grand Re-Opening of The Farm Stand at 244 School St.

Sorry we sold out of bread so early. We will have enough this week! Bakery, Fresh Veggies, Groceries and more! The store will be open 10-6 all weekend.

The Nursery at Farming is Life is open. Browse the fresh herbs, succulents and a wide range of heirlooms and collectibles. Everyone who stops in will get a free packet of seeds from seeds we have saved from our farm. Check out the 100% organic and certified non-gmo seeds from High Mowings Seeds.

Reserve your Farm Share (CSA) and get fresh veggies and fruits from mid May to October. With three sizes starting at $20 per week, we have a package for everyone. Stop by and meet the farmers, find out what crops will be grown, what it means to be certified organic and regenerative…from 10-2 Friday and Saturday.

(Bi)Weekly Shares and Mini Share subscriptions will also available online.

News and Updates from the Farm.

  • The animals are happy to see the ground as we are. The chickens have been out in the fields, a little too far if you ask me. Did they forget about the hawks?

  • Archy the Mini Donkey ran out in the woods. Luckily he ran back when he saw us.

  • Most days we weed for a few hours, if it’s not a day in the grow house. The cows love the fresh weeds from the high tunnels.

  • Green House #2 was lost last week in the high winds. We had spinach, lettuce, cilantro and rainbow Swiss Chard in there. Let’s see what survives the shock of the temp change, I’m hopeful most will. Does anyone want to join us to put on a new cover?

  • The bulbs are coming up. The tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and more. The saffron are doing well. The strawberries are all cute with their little green leaves finally out from under the snow.

  • In Green House 5 (GH5), we have fresh Oregano, Sage, Yarrow, St John’s Wort, Thyme, Walking onions, Garlic Chives, Rhubarb and lots of carrots coming. I see the first Horse Radish also. There’s a lot of Pink Celery, Dinosaur Kale, and Swiss Chard and Dandelion greens growing. Dill and Cilantro will be sprouting any day.

  • What do you plan to grow or have growing? As food prices rise, grow your own food and buy the rest local! It’s fresher and more nutritionally dense if your food travels less.
