Spring has sprung at last!

Spring has sprung at last!

April 15, 2026

What a great week on the farm! Spring has sprung at last. We welcomed the crocuses, the early herbs and cherished all of the buds on the trees that let us know that they made it through the winter.

We planted beets, turnips, radishes, collards, broccoli raab and so much more in the ground. In the Grow House, we tended to the tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, tender herbs, moringa and started summer squash. We opened GH3, a second grow space, with heat and fans. And we weeded and weeded and watered. We chit the potatoes, see the rainbow of heirloom varieties you can enjoy this year! The nursery is open and growing weekly. Get durable garden gear, plants, organic compost from Winchendon’s own black gold. As much as you love Smiths Cheese, your plants will love their compost.

As each CSA came through our new portal, FAHM, we celebrated that our community loves fresh chemical free produce like we do. We welcome you to join us on this journey of 2026. With food prices set to go up due to fertilizer and fuel shortages, let’s lean into local!! At The Farm Stand we carry all of your favorite local producers. Connect us if there’s a product we should carry yet but don’t.

Oh SNAP, I almost forgot to mention that Farmers Market Coupons are accepted this year at The Farm Stand. Just a reminder our spring hours are Thursday to Sunday 10-6. We will expand our hours in the summer, but this time of year we use the extra time on the farm getting this food in the ground.
Until next week, Farming is Life!!
